Some Michigan medical plans publish a Coinsurance Maximum on the SBC, and it is a distinct number from the Out-of-Pocket Maximum. Plansight had nowhere to put it. We inventoried 89 such plans for 2026: 84 BCBS Michigan and 5 HAP.
Medical plans now have a Coinsurance Maximum attribute that mirrors the in-network row of Out-of-Pocket Maximum. Same tiers (Individual / Family), same whole-dollar input, and it always sits directly after OOP Max in every view.
Most plans nationwide don't have this attribute, so it ships off by default for every template.
This is the detail that trips people up, so it's worth being precise.
Even on PPO plans, which have full out-of-network coverage for everything else, no SBC publishes a separate out-of-network Coinsurance Maximum. Not one, across all 89 inventoried plans.
So the illustration's Out-of-Network section must not contain a Coinsurance Max row. The comparison grid gets a single column, not a paired in-network/out-of-network column like OOP Max has. The Excel export's out-of-network column for this attribute is empty or absent.
If you see a Coinsurance Max appearing on the out-of-network side anywhere, that's a bug.
The attribute exists in the schema for every brokerage, but it does not appear on any plan unless that plan's template explicitly turns it on.
A template that hasn't opted in looks identical to before. No new fields anywhere: not on the input form, not on the illustration, not in the comparison grid, not in the PDF or Excel export.
This uses the existing opt-in mechanism rather than a new toggle, so there's no new switch to hunt for.

It renders inside the existing In-Network section, directly after the In-Network OOP Maximum row, so it inherits the In-Network labeling the same way Deductible and OOP Max do:
Two formats appear in the wild on the SBCs themselves. BCBS writes it as Coinsurance Maximum - $500 / $1,000, HAP writes it as Coinsurance Maximum: $4,500 individual / $9,000 family. Plansight renders the HAP style.
Everywhere OOP Max already does, in the same relative position, for templates that opt in:

Not yet, on purpose: BenefitPoint, Employee Navigator, carrier renewal-request notifications, and AI/OCR field extraction. Those are a later phase. If a customer asks whether Coinsurance Max flows to BenefitPoint, the answer today is no.
